Saturday football
BOURNEMOUTH vs LEICESTER CITY (1500)
Leicester will have gained confidence from last week’s demolition of Forest, but they may struggle to repeat that today. Draw.

CHELSEA vs WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS (1500)
Wolves: heading south. Chelsea: heading north. Home win.

MANCHESTER CITY vs SOUTHAMPTON (1500)
City are irresistible. Home win.

NEWCASTLE UNITED vs BRENTFORD (1500)
The barcodes have at last put some muscle into their campaign. Home win.

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (1730)
Tricky one for Spurs. Draw.

*SUNDAY*

CRYSTAL PALACE vs LEEDS UNITED (1400)
Should be a good watch if you don’t fancy the other 1400 kick-off. Draw.

WEST HAM UNITED vs FULHAM (1400)
It’s about time we put a decent run together. Scamacca’s looking good. Does the team have a winning line-up? You can bet your packet of cheese and onion it does. Home win.

ARSENAL vs LIVERPOOL (1630)
Arsenal still top, but perhaps a little fragile? Pool ninth and distinctly fragile. Draw.

EVERTON vs MANCHESTER UNITED (1900)
Everton have pulled their socks up of late while the visitors have let them slip. Still, form is temporary. Away win.

*MONDAY*

NOTTINGHAM FOREST vs ASTON VILLA (2000)
Another brittle midlands derby involving the bottom side, whose manager now has an extended contract. It’s a funny old game, Saint. Draw.

*CHAMPIONSHIP*

Still as tight as a duck’s rectum in this division with goal difference alone separating Sheff U, Norwich and QPR the top, and just eight points between the play-off and relegation zones. Bilic wants Dicks to join him at Watford (9th), who enjoy an awayday to Blackpool this afternoon and should return with all three points. West Brom, Huddersfield and Coventry occupy the bottom three. For anyone that’s interested, Millwall (16th) host Boro (19th).

The Villa Forest game, not our game against Villa.

The passing and general composure was terrible. I dont think we have that issue. Thats all.

Re: Saturday football
I saw our game against Villa, did you? Yeah, that was like a 3rd division scrap to be fair, they were the better team first half in an atrocious game, we were moderately better 2nd half and scored the flukiest goal you're likely to see.

I suppose you didn't watch that.

Did you see the Villa game?

It was like some 3rd division scrap.
We haven't been great this season but never that bad.
I suppose we all see what we see...

Re: Saturday football
We have not been miles better them them. You're on drugs.

Apart from the odd patch if 10 minutes here and there, which you could count those patches on one hand, we've been atrocious with the football. We made Fulham look like Real Madrid until we scored, and let's not for they hot the bar in that period, could've been yet another loss had that gone in.

I don't reckon you watch our games, to be honest. You're a MOTD bod.

Re: Saturday football
Eerie

We've been shit compared to our very high standards set over the years, yes I agree. But compared to Villa and Forest.. we are miles better. In terms of actually completing a pass, movement etc.

Miles better doesnt mean we were playing top 6 football. Just means how crap Villa and Forest were.

Yep, everything is (finally) back to normal at immigration and in the public domain, the only thing is that most of the local are still masked up the twerps.

Re: Saturday football
Roma (and Lazio) should hopefully qualify for the next stage in the Europa. The rest of the teams that could drop down shouldn't worry us.

I should be in BKK at the start of next month, Manuel. What's it looking like at the moment? Back to normal after covid?

Re: Saturday football
Blimey - The crossed one ain't wrong is he, hopefully Roma stay in the EL too. Then you have Arsenal and Man Utd.

So what's going on, how come so many big clubs in the EL, are leagues just tightening up everywhere now, other sides getting closer to the perennial big boys?

Re: Saturday football
And the rest, crossed yiddo son.

As it stands:
Ajax
Athletico Madrid
Barca
Sporting Lisbon
AC Milan
Shakhtar
Sevilla
Juve

will drop into the Europa League. Pretty tough ties in the play-offs.

With Barca and Juve dropping into the Europa, it’s a good job we’re in the Conference League really.

What fucking games of ours have you been watching this season?

We have been fucking appalling with the football. Absolutely, utterly appalling, it's not even up for debate

Re: Saturday football
I don't want to blow our own trumpet too hard but we are miles better on the ball than Villa and Forest. I couldn't believe what I was watching in that game.

Strangely enough we are pretty good at passing and moving the ball around. We have been like that for years under Moyes. Where we have fallen down is the cutting edge in the final third. We haven't been able to break through well drilled defences. Too many "near misses" from our forward players as well.

Hopefully with Scamacca and Paquetta etc.. we will have a bit more accuracy and invention. But Villa and Forest didnt even look like premiership teams to me the other day. Not sure what Gerrard is doing there, at least Forest have an excuse.

Nothing like way over the top hyperbole for your Italian mates, goose!

Re: Saturday football
Billy - Yep, dropping into the EL again most likely.

You would always hear that the group games in the CL were mainly shit and dull etc, and it was probably true, but the competition seems to churning out with some great games these days with goals all over the place, and many great ones too.

I watched Barcelina v Inter Milan last night, cracking game, ended 3-3 so Barca drop into Europa league. From what Iv'e seen if them,Napoli look to be in with a big shout this year, should be some great games once the group stage is done.

Napoli look the best team in the competition - which means they won’t win it.

Spalletti is much maligned but has done an amazing job.

Manuel 10:09 Thu Oct 13
Re: Saturday football
Watched some games this midweek, and fuck me VAR seems to be very prominent in almost every game, some strange calls too most notably Napoli's third goal last night, a pen given when it looked liked nothing? It realy is shit.

Back on the football, some of Napoli's play was breathtaking, the speed in which they were getting up the pitch it was like they were playing on ice, we are like snails in comparison with old Fornals receiving the ball, stopping, check, then passing backwards, ffs.

Arsenal are 13/2 to win the Premier League.
For those who are unfamiliar with betting, it means if you bet £50 on Arsenal winning the Premier League, you will lose £50.
